Warwick’s Newest Anchor Asset: The Eleanor Inn Elevates the Valley

The Eleanor: It’s about to take over your Instagram feed.

We often talk about the properties that define our community. That’s why I was so excited to recently tour The Eleanor—Warwick’s beautiful new Inn and venue space. It is more than just a renovation; it’s a thoughtful restoration that speaks to the level of quality and care we’re seeing across the Warwick Valley.

For years, this property sat quiet, a beautiful structure waiting for the right vision. The transformation we see today is the work of local architects DeGraw and DeHaan. They’ve reimagined the space with a rare combination of reverence for its history and a modern, luxury finish.

Location, Views, and Natural Magnificence

The Eleanor’s setting is truly unique. Tucked away with magnificent views of Sugar Loaf Mountain and Wickham Lake, it feels like a secluded retreat, yet it sits conveniently within the bounds of Wickham Town Park.

The design team did an outstanding job balancing sophisticated interiors with the surrounding natural beauty. The result is a venue that feels both deeply rooted in our local landscape and globally aspirational—a true indicator of the upward trajectory of our region.

A Masterclass in Thoughtful Restoration

The real magic of the renovation is found in the details. The designers leaned into the industrial beauty of the existing structure rather than covering it up. You’ll find original exposed beams, brickwork, and authentic hardware throughout.

The layout is designed for flexibility, featuring two stunning, mirrored suites:

  • Flexibility: The suites can be seamlessly joined to accommodate larger groups while maintaining privacy when nee
  • The Aesthetic: The designers had a bit of fun with the palette, offering a choice between a “Light” and a “Dark” luxurious color scheme.
  • The Space: Each suite offers 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, perfect for families or wedding parties.

A Perfect Hub for Health, Wellness, and Community

Whether you are a neighbor looking for a local event space or a visitor traveling from Manhattan (a convenient <90-minute drive), The Eleanor serves as a perfect base for exploring the best of Warwick:

  • Active Living: It’s an ideal basecamp for cyclists exploring our scenic backroads or runners looking for quiet, rolling hills. In the summer, Wickham Lake is right there for kayaking and paddleboarding.
  • Winter Retreat: During the colder months, it offers a sophisticated landing spot for those visiting nearby Mount Peter or Mountain Creek.
  • A Place to Reset: Sometimes, the best use of the space is simply to enjoy the view and the tranquility.
